The KBD9000 Transmitter/Controller is a low cost, compact, desktop keyboard designed to work with Coaxitron(R) receiver/drivers. It uses the standard mode (15-bit) Coaxitron(R) protocol for fixed speed (non-preset) operation. If variable speed or preset position operation is desired, use an extended mode (32-bit) Coaxitron(R) control such as the MPT9500.
The KBD9000's control functions include pan/tilt, zoom, focus, iris, camera power, auto/manual scan, and auxiliary operation--all via easy-to-use keyboard commands.
The control functions operate simultaneously over the same coax as the video transmission by utilizing the vertical blanking interval, during which pulses are superimposed upon the normal video signal at a point where it is unnoticeable on the monitor. Thus, the need for additional control cables is eliminated. Coaxitron(R) control is ideal in applications where short-to-medium distances are involved (up to 1,500 feet/457 m).
The simplest system configuration consists of the KBD9000 Transmitter/Controller, coax cable, receiver/driver, and camera/pan and tilt system. This basic Coaxitron(R) system is flexible and can be expanded to control multiple camera sites with the addition of a passive switching device. In addition, multiple KBD9000 transmitter/controllers can control multiple receiver/drivers if a more complex system is required.
